"This is a black and white real photo postcard of  2 sailors and a radioman or telegraph operator from the United States Navy ship the USS San Francisco.  The 2 sailors on the left are wearing hats with the name USS SAN FRANCISCO across the front, and the man standing to the right is wearing a hat with a hat insignia of a lightning bolt and a matching collar insignia, (radioman or telegraph operator)??.  Card is not posted, divided back and has the hand-written name Mose Travers on the back, (probably one of the sailors).  Condition is fair, diagonal crease through the center and lower right corner chip."

USS San Francisco CA-38 Reunion.  Sacramento, CA.  September 2004

(L) George Crane, USS San Francisco CA-38 [1943-1946, B Division] and Jack Wallace (son of Lieutenant JG John George Wallace, CA-38)  NOTE:  Mr. Crane was elected the President of the CA-38 Association in Valley Forge, PA., May 2007 at the Cruisers and Sailors Reunion.  Mr. Crane is a Past President of the CA-38 Association.  Image they hold is the Battle of Guadalcanal mural (featurung the CA-38), that was for many years at the US Naval Academy, and the image of the mural is the banner on the homepage of the Foundations website.  Unfortunately this priceless mural was destroyed during a renovation work at the Naval Academy, but will now, never be forgotten via electronic means.
